Watch pre-recorded presentations and join live discussions focused on regional approaches and emerging perspectives.  \n\n\n\nKey topics include: \n\n\n\n\nHistory of Dead Sea Scrolls scholarship in the Global South\n\n\n\nDistinctive regional methods and perspectives\n\n\n\nNew insights and emerging research trajectories\n\n\n\n\nFormat\n\n\n\nSpeakers will be requested to submit a video recording of their paper by 1 August 2025.  Recordings should not be more than 20-minutes in length.  The pre-recorded papers will then be shared with participants\, who will be invited to watch them before the live meetings. \n\n\n\nThe meetings  will be comprised of four (4) two-hour-long meetings held on Zoom (that is\, two hours each day). Plus\, it will be recorded for later viewing on the NZLPA website\, so you won’t miss a moment! \n\n\n\nAbout the Session\n\n\n\nThis year’s theme\, “Intergenerational Worship: Shaping Worship Across Generations\,” will explore the significance of designing worship experiences that speak to people of all ages. Rev. Michael Lemanu\, Regional Enabler for Te Whānau Weteriana o Taranaki\, will lead a thought-provoking discussion on why intergenerational worship matters – even for congregations that may not have a large youth presence. \n\n\n\nHe will offer practical insights on how lay preachers and worship leaders can create services that are mindful of diverse generations\, contexts\, and backgrounds\, and how to make worship more inclusive for everyone. \n\n\n\nCo-Facilitators\n\n\n\nThe session will be co-facilitated by So’otaga Misikei\, the incoming Young Adults Leadership Development Coordinator for the Lower North Island Synod. So’otaga brings experience as a ministry student within the Taranaki District  of the Methodist Church and will contribute his perspective on young adult leadership in worship. \n\n\n\nWhat to Expect\n\n\n\nThis session will follow a Talanoa (conversational) format\, allowing participants to share their experiences and insights. DESCRIPTION:The year 2025 will mark the 1700th anniversary of the First Ecumenical Council at Nicaea in 325\, a key moment in the history of Christian faith and for the ecumenical journey today. To mark the anniversary\, the World Council of Churches is planning a year of activities at the centre of which will be the Sixth World Conference on Faith and Order. The conference will gather churchleaders and theologians of different traditions around the theme “Where now for visible unity?” with a focus on the issues of faith\, unity\, and mission.Dr Stephen Brown\, editor of The Ecumenical Review\, the quarterly journal of the World Council of Churches\, and communication officer for Faith and Order will present a seminar on the importance of commemorating the Council and its continuing significance for the global church. Originally from Britain\, Dr Brown is based near Geneva and is a member of the United Protestant Church of France.
