International Rural Churches Assoc IRCA Oceania

We are a regional network within the International Rural Churches Association (IRCA).  Our purpose is to build connections across the south western Pacific area and bring a uniquely antipodean perspective to the IRCA family.

Geographically diverse across the islands of Polynesia, Melanesia, Micronesia, Aotearoa New Zealand, together with the continent of Australia, we have much in common, with a love of the Moana (the sea) and with permanent and temporary migration between our lands.

We understand one another particularly as rural churches, knowing our dependence of God’s gifts of land and sea for life and livelihood, and sharing a common struggle in the face of international economic pressures that can put this livelihood at risk.
